The Jolly Waggoners is a traditional 18th Century pub, located in the heart of the picturesque village of Ardley in Hertfordshire.

Surrounded by breathtaking scenery with long country walks and hundreds of cycle tracks and bridleways the pub is a delightful rest stop for those in search of country pursuits and we welcome families, children and pets.

The pub sits across the road from Church Farm Ardley with its charming café, farm shop and a number of options for camping and glamping breaks.

In the winter there are always toasty open fires with comfortable seating and blankets. In the summer there are large outdoor spaces with a beer garden to the rear and a courtyard with a firepit and seating to the front.

Our kitchen serves up a hearty menu, using free-range meat and produce direct from the farm, featuring both classics and contemporary snacks and specials, complemented by a host of fine ales, beers and wines.

This is a place to spend long afternoons with friends in a warm and friendly environment. So join us to eat, drink and be jolly.

A fantastic menu with interesting options compared to the traditional "pub grub". The choice was so good it will deserve a return visit soon. Coupled with friendly, attentive service made this a really enjoyable visit.

A return visit for Fish & Chips with a pint of local brew…. and the now usual great food, fantastic service and relaxing surroundings. Well done to the team for making this a tremendous local country pub. Look forward to the next time.

Visited The Jolly Waggoner again for a quick lunch and pint. The usual high standard. Good food, Good Service, good company. They also make a fuss of, and always bring a bowl for our 2 lovely dogs. Well done..

A lovely country pub with open fire to warm us after a country walk. Pub was very busy, obviously a favourite local. We were grateful to be seated earlier than our booking. The roast beef and enormous Yorkshire pudding were delicious. The meat and vegetables all from the farm across the road. Reasonably priced and good portions. 5 stars all round.
